2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the Order of the Arrow. Known as the Boy Scouts of America's National Honor Society, the Order of the Arrow (OA) recognizes Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. Members of the OA are known for maintaining camping traditions and spirit, promoting year-round and long-term resident camping, developing leaders, and providing cheerful service to others. OA service, activities, adventures, and training for youth and adults are models of quality leadership development and programming that enrich, support, and help to extend Scouting to America's youth.
The Moritz Embroidery Works is proud of our work with Order of the Arrow lodges and events across the country. We are excited for all the anniversary celebrations—including the 2015 National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) taking place August 3-8, 2015 at Michigan State University—and look forward to helping lodges create great NOAC and anniversary emblems, garments and other special centennial memorabilia.
One of the more inspirational paintings related to the Order of the Arrow is "The Higher Vision," an incredible oil painting by official BSA artist Joseph Csatari. The powerful image depicts Uncas handing down the legend of Wimachtendienk in pictographs on a skin to a young Arrowman so that the Order will have the legend for posterity. The National OA Committee received the painting in October of 1963 and it has become an icon of the Order.

The Moritz Embroidery Works has recreated the enduring image of "The Higher Vision" as the 2015 Moritz Embroidered calendar image. Using a combination of beautiful embroidery over a digitally-printed background, this emblem commemorates the Order of the Arrow's 100 year legacy.
For more than 30 years, Moritz has been producing an annual limited-edition calendar; each year featuring a unique embroidered image of nature, wildlife, Americana or Scouting history.
1,500 calendars were created for 2015 - they have since all been distributed to BSA councils and loyal customers across the country as a token of our thanks for their continued support.
